The Pennsylvania Golf Course Owners Association is proud to announce LuLu Country Club as the 2026 PGO Private Golf Course of the Year.

The award recognizes a PGO member facility that demonstrates excellence in golf course quality, leadership, member experience, facilities, community involvement, innovation and its commitment to the future of the game.
For LuLu, the recognition comes after a decade of remarkable transformation under the leadership of owners Ron and Jon Rusk, while remaining true to a simple philosophy: make golf fun for everyone. PRI LuLu
An Extraordinary Commitment to the Golf Course
Over the past decade, nearly $20 million has been reinvested throughout LuLu Country Club, with the golf course remaining at the center of that commitment.
Investments have included the reconstruction of every bunker, a sophisticated new irrigation system, more than $800,000 in tree management and replanting, an updated maintenance equipment fleet, extensive cart path improvements and an ongoing multi-year tee renovation program. New forward tees have also been strategically positioned to make the course more enjoyable and playable for golfers of varying abilities. PRI LuLu
The result reflects LuLu’s philosophy that golf course improvement is an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time investment.
A Club Transformed
LuLu’s story is also one of resilience.
Following a devastating clubhouse fire ten years ago, the Rusk family used the challenge as an opportunity to reimagine the Club. A new state-of-the-art clubhouse was constructed and has become the center of LuLu’s social, dining and post-round experience. PRI LuLu
Additional improvements include two indoor golf simulators, a nearly 30,000-square-foot practice green, improvements to the driving range and, most recently, the addition of TrackMan technology to the outdoor practice range in 2026. PRI LuLu
Making Golf Fun for Everyone
While the facilities have changed dramatically, LuLu’s focus remains on creating an exceptional golf and member experience.
More than 70% of available tee times are allocated for walking, and the Club offers an extensive tournament schedule that includes Club Championships, Senior, Women’s, Junior and Couples events, Ryder Cup competitions, Member-Guests and other events. Most sell out annually. PRI LuLu
With the exception of designated championship events, Club tournaments and programs are open to men, women and juniors, helping create a golf community centered around participation, camaraderie and inclusion. PRI LuLu
Member response has been equally strong. A recent survey conducted by McMahon Associates produced results the firm described as unprecedented in its 40-year history, and LuLu currently maintains a healthy membership waiting list. PRI LuLu
Leadership with a Long-Term Vision
A defining element of LuLu is its family ownership structure. Ron Rusk serves as President, while his son Jon Rusk serves as General Manager, overseeing day-to-day operations and implementation of the Club’s long-range strategic plan. PRI LuLu
Their approach combines disciplined financial management with the ability to make decisions efficiently and continually reinvest in what matters most to LuLu’s members.
During the past decade, total sales have increased approximately 500%, food and beverage has become profitable without member minimums, and the Club has maintained membership costs below the regional average while continuing its significant capital investment. PRI LuLu
A Commitment Beyond the Club
LuLu’s impact also reaches into the surrounding community through charitable golf outings, community events and the LuLu Country Club Family Foundation, which supports nonprofits and volunteer organizations serving the Upper Dublin community.
That same spirit extends to LuLu’s own members and employees, with the Club community rallying to provide support when someone within the LuLu family faces a significant need. PRI LuLu
A Well-Deserved Recognition
From its golf course and facilities to its culture, community involvement and commitment to continuous improvement, LuLu Country Club demonstrates the qualities celebrated by the PGO Golf Course of the Year program.
Most importantly, the transformation has remained focused on the experience of the golfer and the member—continuing to invest, innovate and find better ways to operate while staying true to the idea that golf should be fun for everyone. PRI LuLu
The Pennsylvania Golf Course Owners Association congratulates Ron and Jon Rusk and the entire LuLu Country Club team on being named the 2026 PGO Private Golf Course of the Year.
